Data & Analytics is a division that drives and coordinates data analytics & AI projects across the Group. The mission is to support the Group’s core business and unlock new business opportunities through data, talent, and technology.
The AI department leads AI initiatives within Data & Analytics, enabling and supporting business and central functions in AI and GenAI while developing and implementing AI tools and platforms.
To accelerate the journey towards data-driven decision-making, we are looking for an experienced AI expert with a passion for data, strong product thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset to tackle a variety of exciting challenges in the (re)insurance space.
Your tasks
- Shape and implement the AI strategy and roadmap, aligning cutting-edge technology initiatives with business objectives and long-term value creation
- Act as a bridge between technology and business strategy – translating complex AI concepts into strategic insights and recommendations for decision-makers
- Collaborate with senior business and strategy stakeholders (e.g., Underwriting, Claims) to identify high-impact AI opportunities and translate them into actionable solutions
- Ensure both technical excellence and strategic alignment of the AI solutions with long-term business goals
- Drive the strategic development and scaling of the client’s internal NLP & GenAI platform to enable AI-driven transformation across business units
- Build and evolve AI capabilities to ensure sustainable and efficient use of GenAI, NLP, and ML technologies
Your qualifications
- University degree (Master’s or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field; additional education or experience in business, strategy, or consulting is a strong plus
- Deep understanding of GenAI, NLP, and modern ML technologies, with the ability to assess and steer their strategic application
- Several years of professional experience in AI, Data Science, or Technology Strategy – ideally in a strategic or consulting role (e.g., management consulting, digital transformation, or internal strategy teams)
- Strong strategic and analytical mindset, capable of connecting technology potential with business value
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience presenting complex AI topics to senior executives and non-technical audiences
- Collaborative working style with the ability to drive alignment between technical and business teams
- Experience with AI infrastructure and cloud environments (e.g., Kubernetes, MLOps) and understanding of how to scale solutions efficiently
- Experience in the insurance, risk management, or financial services industry is a plus
- Fluent in German and English (spoken and written) and willingness to travel as needed
