Director Funds (m/f/d)

The company

Our client is a leading German bank. As part of the build-out of its new office in Luxembourg, we are mandated to identify a Director Funds (m/f/d).

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the Bank’s Luxembourg client franchise by originating, developing and managing strategic relationships and complex financing opportunities. The mandate covers the broader client relationship across fund finance, accounts, payments, deposits, cash management, FX and other relevant products, and may extend to corporate and institutional clients in line with the agreed business model.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies for assigned market segments, including funds and, where assigned, corporate and institutional clients.
• Identify, originate and structure complex fund finance and broader corporate banking solutions tailored to client requirements.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with fund managers, asset managers, corporates, institutional and supranational clients, and other relevant market participants.
• Lead negotiations with clients and advisors throughout transaction and portfolio lifecycles.
• Manage strategic client portfolios, ensuring sustainable profitability and appropriate risk management.
• Drive cross-selling opportunities across financing, transaction banking, cash management, deposits, FX and other product areas.
• Lead internal deal teams, present and defend transactions before Credit, Risk and other approval committees, and coordinate execution across functions, locations and cultures.
• Monitor regulatory, market and industry developments and translate insights into commercial opportunities.
• Represent the Bank at client meetings, industry conferences and professional forums, including events outside normal working hours where required.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Bank’s Fund Finance proposition, thought leadership, product development, process improvements and strategic initiatives; coach and develop junior colleagues and assume people-management responsibility where relevant.

Your skillset

• Degree in economics, business administration or a comparable qualification.
• Extensive experience within Fund Finance, Corporate Banking, Structured Finance or a comparable environment.
• Strong commercial and relationship-management capabilities, supported by a proactive work ethic and effective teamwork across functions, locations and cultures.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex financing transactions.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong understanding of credit, risk and regulatory frameworks.
• Business-fluent English; French and/or German would be an advantage.
